Yanni had her first swim meet in a year today. It was the Summer Solstice Classic, the first USA meet she’d done two years ago. When Yanni last competed in this large meet, she got disqualified because she’d dove deep, and they thought she’d done one too many pulls in her breast stroke start. Today, she swam a 100 breast stroke, a 200 freestyle, and a 200 IM. Yanni swam the IM better than she’s ever swum an IM. It was a close race for third, and Yanni took it. She finished fourth in her heat in breast, and 6th in her freestyle heat. There were several heats in each event in which she participated, so how she did overall remains to be seen. She says she placed 38th overall in breast. She says it’s out of 40. There were people there from all over the region. Xay was to compete tomorrow morning, but the car is down, so he’ll have to forfeit.
