I just found the short vowel sound stories I wrote for Xay when he was in Kindergarten. This one is a stretch. I expected a Kindergartner to read this?

Uncle Ugly and Cousin Fuzzy were ducks. Until he was 5, cousin fuzzy was ugly, too. He tried to live under the water.

“Up, up, up!” shouted Uncle Ugly. “You can’t hide from ugly under the water. Use this umbrella.”

So Cousin Fuzzy stayed under the umbrella, up out of the water, with Aunt Undulating until he wasn’t ugly anymore.
