Every other day or so, when I’m in the classroom with Imani, Joy and Esteban, I’ll hear the camera beeping in another room. Pretty soon, Chanya runs in the room, camera in hand, big grin on her face.
If I take the camera away, I’ll put it down where it belongs, and Yanni will find Chanya upstairs, camera in hand a few seconds later.
If Esteban takes the camera away, Chanya is screaming and fussing.
I found some videos she shot. I couldn’t tell you what was being filmed, other than baby body in pajamas. There’s another video of Esteban taking the camera away–irritable baby and all.
I deleted the videos. But here’s a picture typical of baby grabbing the camera. She likes to have the viewfinder facing herself so she can see herself. She also likes to look at pictures of herself so she can scream, “Look! It’s a baby!”
Sometimes Chanya will be in the room with me and I’ll hear the camera beeping in the other room. She’s not the only one that likes to take pictures. . .
